MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19)- Police say a man was unsuspectingly attacked from behind at a laundromat in Middletown.
According to authorities, David Jones, 57, was leaving Mid-Town Laundry on N. Verity Parkway on Sunday when he was suddenly assaulted from behind by a man holding a wooden stick.
The man reportedly ran up behind Jones and started hitting him without saying a word, in an apparent attempt to knock him out. Police say Jones was hit in the head but was able to fight off the suspect, even pulling off his glasses during the altercation. The suspect then ran, getting in his car and driving northbound on Verity Parkway.
Jones, who officers say was bleeding on the left side of his head, was treated at a nearby hospital.
